WlLLIAM FORESTER VS J.D SALINGER

AGORAPHOBIA:

Definition of Agoraphobia:
The word agoraphobia is derived from Greek words literally meaning "fear of the marketplace." The term is used to describe an irrational and often disabling fear of being out in public.
The person suffering from agoraphobia usually avoids the anxiety-provoking situation and may become totally housebound.

These are the things which also happens with william forester, he was afraid of going out public places. And he lock himself in the house and nobody was allowed to meet him without his wish.

COMPARISON BETWEEN WILLIAM FORESTER AND J.D SALINGER:

  • Both william forester and J.D Salinger born in Manhattan.
  • Both of them written many books and novels but they only publish one in thier whole life.
  • The reason behind disappearing was too much attention of public and both are afraid to talk with media thats why they didn't gave any interview to any newspaper.
  • J.D Salinger says " I love to write but i write just for my self and my own pleasure. It show that he don't like anybody to critique his work so as the william forester, he ask jamal to read his story but not allowed him to ask any question about it.

"SHOOTING AN ELEPHANT" Enemy!

The enemy is one who feels hatred towards or opposses the interest of another. This meaning is similar to the burmese people because the British empire is ruling over them for along years. And George Orwell's enemies are burmese people and also the British empire who sent him here, as a police officer in burma. And Both of them have the common enemy is Elephant who destroy thier bamboo huts and killed the innocent burmese people , althought George Orwell didn't like the burmese but he have to protect them from the elephant because he is a police officer and it is his duty.
They differ in a way that, they thought that British empire will destroy thier nation but they are ruling over them just for development of burmese people and the whole burma.
